Belgravia Palace

From offices to high-end residential.

This property, which dates back to the early 19th century, consists of a basement and four storeys. It is part of the Grade ll* listed terrace located within the Belgravia Conservation Area, in the heart of London. Additionally, the plot includes an extension to the rear called Wilton Mews street. For several decades, starting from the 1940s, the house served as the headquarters of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, with the extension to Wilton Mews being constructed in the early 1950s. We were tasked with restoring the building to its original purpose and transforming it into a single-family residence equipped with all the necessary amenities to offer a high-quality living experience.

Schneider Designers is a boutique architectural practice specializing in the development of unique, high-end residential projects that transform architectural vision into distinctive homes. With a meticulous approach to creating spaces that maximize natural light and incorporate elaborate details with unique character, our team brings extensive knowledge and experience to every project we undertake. We approach each project with careful attention to detail, considering all aspects of the design and construction process to ensure a complete and seamless result.

The historical significance of the building posed an interesting challenge as we needed to balance its heritage value with the demands of a modern family home. To achieve this, we enhanced the existing structure while remaining sensitive to its historical essence. We carefully integrated contemporary luxury standards into the original spaces while creating a new extension that houses various recreational facilities such as a swimming pool, gym, sauna, games room, dining and kitchen area, and a two-car garage. The design of the mews extension respects the traditional hierarchy of storeys and maintains a seamless transition from the historical building to the modern addition.

Architectural quality

In addition to the architectural and finishing quality, the development also boasts a comprehensive Interior Design scheme and cutting-edge technological features. Domotics, remote security control with CCTV, intelligent lighting, under-floor heating, air conditioning throughout, and high-speed internet connection bring this historic building into the 21st century, offering a perfect blend of history and modern convenience.
