Realization of Studio Brain Factory

The choice of Mardegan Legno was dictated by mainly aesthetic needs combined with reasons linked to unique technical and functional characteristics: the wide choice of colors and finishes offered give the environments an immediate feeling of well-being and warmth. At the same time one is aware of having chosen a material that respects the environment thanks to its eco-sustainability certification , with excellent sound insulation characteristics and a timeless aesthetic beauty.

The Challenge
The architectural intervention represents a perfect combination of customer needs and design intentions: despite being 80 square meters, the apartment has been designed preferring an imbalance of spaces in favor of a large open-space, which is mostly lived by the owners of the house, and reducing to the maximum, but always in line with the urban parameters, the sleeping area and the bathrooms. The challenge was to make the environments livable and functional despite this imbalance required by the client.

Needs and Design

Together with a need of wide architectural scope, there was the desire to separate the kitchen from the living room through a system of windows divided by a regular square grid mesh with an industrial taste: it was made, in fact, in galvanized iron profiles with micaceous finish assembled by hand, built on site and completed with extra-clear laminated glass.

Inspiration and Result

The apartment’s mood prefers total white combined with warm tones of oak parquet floor. Other references to industrial design include the use of grey microcement on bathrooms’ walls and the creation of the bookcase in anthracite lacquered wood in the living room, so dark in order to visually expand the space. On the theme of the grid has also been designed the bed head: to draw the wall there are dense parallel profiles in wood that also serve as housing shelves that can be positioned at various heights. To enhance the pure minimalism there are flush-wall cabinets at full height and a very linear and rigorous technical lighting.
